Hatha-Yin Yoga 🖤 Hip Love
49m
Filmed @ Kanaha Beach, Kahului, Maui.
We begin our journey together focusing on releasing your hips. Your hips are connected throughout your body to your legs, back, and glutes - all major core areas for strength and grounding into the Earth. So tight hips can impact a major portion of your body (physical and emotional), from your rib cage all the way down to your knees (physically body) and this core area of our body is often where we store stress (emotional body). That means if you have low back pain, knee pain, or find yourself not feeling grounded and stressed out, then not having open hips and/or flexibility in the region could be playing a major role.
You can 100% do this practice without any props, but in an effort to be accepting of your body where it is at in your yoga practice, go ahead and have bolsters (or a few pillows), yoga blocks (or a heavy stack of books), & a strap (or a belt) handy for our practice today. Meeting your body where it is at, rather than forcing it into extremes, can actually help you to gain leaps and bounds in your flexibility practice as well as your relationship with yourself.
Let’s tend to and give those hips some love.
